| Set in open countryside, 'Oaklands' lies just 3 miles north of the ancient and historic city of York, within very easy reach of the York ring road(A1237), the A64 and A19, giving ready access to the North Yorkshire Dales, Moors and coast. Only 9 miles away you visit Castle Howard, the magnificent ancestral home of the Howards, with its many treasures, extensive gardens, lake and picnic areas.

There are numerous places and areas of beauty and interest, which we'd be happy to highlight on your arrival at 'Oaklands', where you'll find a very warm welcome to our friendly and comfortable home, which lies on a regular bus route to York, with nearby park and rides.

Each of our bedrooms is equipped with TVs, radio alarms, hair dryers, coffee and tea-making facilities and private or en suite facility.

There is also a guest lounge/breakfast room with a range of games, books and tourist literature. Free off road parking is available and you also have use of our attractive garden, (the only place where smoking is allowed).

Our more than ample breakfast will ensure that you are well nourished before you set off to discover the delights of North Yorkshire and you'll find the local area rich in both 'pubs' and restaurants, providing cuisine of a standard second to none anywhere.

Full English Grilled Breakfast
- Rindless, best back bacon, egg, premium pork sausage, sautéed mushrooms,
- Grilled tomato, hash brown and grilled bread
- Free range eggs, fried, scrambled, poached or boiled
- Toasted white or wholemeal bread with home-made marmalade.
- Tea or coffee
Prices start at £24 p.p.p.n, based on 2 sharing a double en suite room. The en suite family room starts at £66 and single rooms (without en suite) start at £28. Single guest supplement in a double or twin en suite room is £15 per night.

Children under 2 are free and children under 13 are half price.

Special rates are available for longer term business persons. Broadband is also available. Deposits are 25% of the whole bill and are not refundable unless the room in question is re -booked.

Once on the York ring road (A1237) look for sign Earswick/ Strensall (B&B signs at this point). Turn here, after approx three quarters of a mile, a large detached house on the left with solar panels, signed and lit at night is 'Oaklands'.
