| The Beacon is a beautiful late Victorian Goathland bed and Breakfast providing beautiful accommodation in North Yorkshire. The building itself was built as a country house for a wealthy mill owner in the late 19th Century, and has been beautifully turned into a wonderful North Yorkshire bed and breakfast.

The Beacon offers visitors a relaxing retreat in the peaceful surroundings of the North Yorkshire rural moors, perfect for those looking for a walking holiday, or a place to get away from the stresses of modern day city living. The Beacon sits comfortably at the rear of the common, adjacent to the church. It is situated within its own pleasurable landscaped grounds, overlooking green fields and open moorland.

Any fans of the ITV programme Heartbeat will surely recognise Goathland as Aidensfield – the setting for the fictional programme. Fans will not be disappointed as many of the landmarks in the programme are recognisable in the village such as the small stores, public house, and railway station. The Beacon was actually used in a number of episodes of Heartbeat, featuring the bedrooms, and public areas of this Goathland bed and breakfast.

Each en suite bedroom is tastefully decorated and is central heated. Rooms also include a colour television, and tea and coffee making facilities. Family rooms are offered in The Beacon along with double and twin rooms. Most rooms in the main house have outstanding views of the North Yorkshire moors, the garden or the Goathland common.

Goathland is situated close to Whitby and Scarborough so as well as spending time walking on the peaceful moors, you can also take a day trip to the seaside to enjoy fish and chips by the beach, and perhaps a 99 ice cream cone.
